Ebro Darden travelled to Jamaica to chat with Popcaan on Apple Music’s Beats 1. He discusses ‘Vanquish’, his first project released via Drake’s OVO Sound and his hometown Unruly Festival festival which he’ll headline with several guests.

He talks about meeting Drake and how he has supported Dancehall:

Drake supports Dancehall music a lot and sometimes people say some things about Drizzy, but he puts a different light on Dancehall music. You can’t take that from him. And he linked with the biggest Dancehall artist, so it’s like he’s already shedding light on Dancehall culture by shedding light on Popcaan. We have to big up Drake always.

He also discusses the meaning behind the mixtape’s title, his relationship with Vybez Kartel and says that the album in 2020 will be with Drake, but doesn’t disclose any other info.
